for banquet cost. Total balance: $1659.50. President

level. Motion:
Senator Faulk/Second: Senator Southard IV. General Assembly
Committee Report: Senator Hope Phillips reported that this Town Hall
Meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, August 30, in the Ballroom at 2:30 p.m.
Senators are requested to be present by 2:00 p.m. , wear nametags, and
thank employees for attending. We will have a sign-in table and will
distribute the
Staff Senate brochures. Also, we will recap subjects from last
year. President Barnhill will serve as moderator. Senators were requested
to encourage staff from their individual areas to attend.
V. Cookbook Committee Report: Senator McDaniel stated
that they received 140 recipes. There is a need for extra appetizers,
breads, and main dishes. So, a recipe form was distributed
to the senators and needed to be returned by August 24th. The title
of the cookbook
will be discussed further at a later date. We will state that
the cookbook is sponsored by the ASU Staff Senate. We should receive
the cookbooks from the printers by December 8th. The recipes must
be sent to the printers by October 10th. We will order 200 cookbooks
initially. It was suggested to place a cookbook ad in The Herald.
In order to break even, we must sell 65 cookbooks at $10.00 each.
We will make available an order form at the Town Hall Meeting so employees
can order their copy at that time. Senator Robin Hicks emphasized
that fellow senators must help sell the cookbooks in order for this fundraiser
to be successful.
VI. Homecoming Committee Report: Senator Danny Faulk
reported that the committee met prior to today's Staff Senate meeting.
College of Business is providing the popcorn machine during the time homecoming
displays are being made. Lemonade will be available and we will use
the Staff Senate tent. This tent will be located in front of the
Reng Center. During the Tailgate Picnic, Senator Kevin Chambers and
Senator Faulk will cook the hamburgers/hot dogs. The committee is
attempting to get a tent at no cost. However, they are checking with
Chris Wyche and Vicki Pillow in the Athletic Department to request
a tent. The senators stated that they would not object if we had
to rent a tent. The Staff Senate will purchase the hamburgers and
hot dogs but most other items will be donated. The senators will
need to
bring desserts, baked beans, or potato salads, etc. A sign-up
sheet was distributed during the meeting. Senator Faulk said he will
mention during the Town Hall Meeting that everyone is welcome to attend
this picnic and bring food. Cooking will begin at 3:15 on Saturday,
September 30.

We will need a part-time senator representative on this committee selected
by next Staff Senate (Sept. 21). President Barnhill said if a senator
knows someone who would serve on this committee, please bring him/her to
the Sept. 21st meeting because they must be present at the meeting and
be introduced
before they can be nominated; (d) Location of the September Staff Senate

on September 21, Physical Plant (Carpentry Shop) on October 19, Testing

new employee orientations. We could also distribute Staff Senate
