Arkansas State University Staff Senate met on February 17, at 9:00 a.m. in the Library's Board Room.

I. Call to order: The meeting was called to order by President Tammy Fowler at 9:02 a.m.
II. Minutes: The minutes from the January 20, 2000 meeting were approved with the amendment as follows: There will be a change on the Awards Committee. Tony Fowler will sit in for Barbara Broadaway. Motion: Senator Faulk/Second: Senator White
III. Treasurer's Report: Secretary Tami Murray reported no change with a budget balance of $379.12. Motion: Senator McCoy/Second: Senator Meyer
IV. President's Report: Given by President Tammy Fowler.
-CLIP Update: The University Planning Committee has approved a plan to proceed with he implementation of the CLIP on campus. President Fowler encourages both support and cooperation if asked to participate.
-Professional Development Policy: A committee has been established to prepare a proposal by the next President's Council Meeting which is scheduled for March 1st.
-Shared Governance Report: It was agreed to accept the proposal of placing a student athlete on the Finance Aid Committee. The Engineering Transfer Request was tabled until we receive additional information.
-Fund Raiser: It was agreed to proceed with the Staff Senate Cookbook. Motion: Senator McCay/Second: Senator Faulk.
V. Committee Reports:
-Picnic Committee: Committee is reviewing dates and
gathering additional information. Anyone wishing to participate,
the next meeting will be March 2nd at 8:30 am in the Admissions Conference
Room (Chickasaw Bldg.).
VI. New Business:
-Staff Senate Officer Elections: Will begin
in April.
VII. Next Meeting: The next Staff Senate Meeting will be March 16 at 9 am in the Library Board Room. Staff Senate elections will be held at this time.
