I. Call to order: The meeting was called to order by President Tammy Fowler at 2:04 p.m.
II. Minutes: The minutes from the December 16, 1999 meeting were reviewed and approved as read. Motion: Senator Faulk/Second: President-Elect Barnhill
III. Treasurer's Report: Treasurer Jackie McDaniel reported budget balanced $379.12. Motion: Senator McCoy/Second: Senator Hurt
IV. President's Report: Given by President Tammy Fowler.

-Drug Free Workplace Initiative: There has been some inquiry into the policy of ASU on helping those employees who may be abusing drugs. The possibility of random drug testing has come up. Those interested in forming a work group on this issue should contact Doug Mathis.
V. Changing from a teaching to a learning environment:
Paula Bradberry gave a report on the task force working to implement
various initiatives on moving from a teaching environment to a learning
environment. She spoke of the involvement of the staff and encouraging
staff to be involved in the learning process and rewarded for it.
VI. Compensation for degree and certification completion:
President Fowler established a committee to discuss proposal to be
given to President Wyatt.
VII. Campus Parking: Traffic & Safety Improvement Program. Dr. Mary Lynn Williamson discussed future plans for the new Student Union. Dr. Williamson also presented the Campus Parking, Traffic and Safety Improvement Program. She stated the Parking Garage and Student Union will be in conjunction with one another. Funding for the garage was also discussed by implementing an increase in our parking decals.
VIII. CLIP Update: President Fowler presented final regulations for the CLIP program presented by the Department of Finance and Admin.- Office of Personnel Management. After great discussion it was decided by the Staff Senate to recommend implementing this program at ASU.
